I'VE SEARCHED FOR A WELL-ROUNDED CROQUET SET TO USE WITH CHILDREN AND FOUND THIS SET TO FIT THE BILL. IT COMES IN A NICE CARRYING CASE, HOWEVER, ONCE THE EQUIPMENT COMES OUT, IT IS A LITTLE DIFFICULT TO PUT BACK IN. I KEPT THE CARDBOARD LINER IN PLACE AND THOUGHT IT WOULD BE NICE TO HAVE A HARD LINED CASE IN PLACE OF THE "SOFT" FABRIC. I AM THOUGH, HAPPY WITH THIS SET.

I think this set will hold up to family use and that was the intention behind giving it has a gift.
I wish the carry/storage case was able to hold the mallets without having to unscrew them. Having to assemble the mallets for every use is going to take a toll on the wooden screw holes.

Unfortunately, this set is much smaller than I expected with the description and pictures on the site. It is very light weight and not at all like the one we used at Grandma's house all those years ago.
Probably fine for kids, but we adult cousins are looking for the old-fashioned fun we once enjoyed!

The game arrived promptly and looks beautiful . The reason I gave it only four stars is, we haven't played with it yet, It had not weathered anything. And there's nothing much to assemble that could go wrong.
