This set isn't what I was hoping for after I read all the glowing reports, but it's about what you would expect for the price after looking at all the other sets in the $100 range. This set is good enough for what I bought it for but if you're looking for a quality set that you will use a lot, this isn't the set. Really, the only complaint I have is the set is a little on the small size. The handles are short and thin, the mallets are rather small and the little posts with all the colors aren't much bigger around than a pencil---well maybe a little :o) The wickets and balls seem fine. So for an inexpensive, use sometime set---this will work fine. I'm going to say I would recommend this to a friend but I would tell them what I just posted.

My family uses this product at family events. After 1 year of use, the product is already starting to break! The rubber is coming off the mallets. The balls are starting to chip. We didn't think we needed a high dollar product when just playing for recreation, but I thought this would last a lot longer than 1 year. I feel like I already need to buy another set!

Service and delivery comments:

When we ordered it was for a Christmas present. It said "in stock" but that was not true. I ordered a few weeks before Christmas and the product was not delivered until the first of the new year!

If you're wondering, yes, the mallets feel too small for a regular sized adult (5'10" male). If you are small, or naturally hunched, this may work well; for the rest, get ready for hours of fun, family back-strain. I bought this looking for the indestructible, normal sized croquet set of days gone by, but sadly this set doesn't fit the bill. It's unfortunate that the buy-in to see if you'll enjoy the game is so much for something better.
